Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College for Girls
Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College for Girls, affiliated to Punjabi University, Patiala, was set up in the session 2013-14 to impart quality education in the field of Science, Commerce, Humanities and Computer Science. It has developed in to a premier Institution and ever since its inception it has grown tremendously. In the academic field, for the past Seven years, our students are performing very well. About 100 students every year scored 80 percent marks in University Examinations. Our Education College has always made us proud by giving cent-percent results every year. Making our students globally competitive is the need of the hour and with the same idea; we conduct classes of French language especially for the students of management and computer studies. Service to the community is the hallmark of the management of this college.
NSS Camps, blood donation camps, marriage of poor girls, extension lectures by renowned social workers have been organized in the past by the College to encourage students so that they can work towards the uplift of society. The sportsmen of the College have made a mark on the global map. Through the decades, every year, we have students achieving distinction and winning medals at the International, National, State and University Levels. The efforts of the College are not limited to only outstanding sports achievers; it promotes an interest in sports and physical fitness among staff and students through Yoga classes, Inter-Class Tournaments and the Annual Athletic Meet. The glorious tradition of the college has been maintained by holding national and international seminars, youth festivals, educational tours, interactive sessions, communication and personality development classes, quiz contests etc. The 'Counseling Cell' of the college provides guidance for placement and career opportunities. Till now, fifteen leading companies visited our college and selected a sizeable number of students. Our greatest strength is the outstanding faculty of our College. The teachers do research and publish extensively, present papers at conferences organized worldwide, win accolades and yet consider themselves as a teacher, first.
Thus, a good institution typically depends on what you value the most. Furthermore, we stand committed to our motto, "Knowledge is Power" and cultivating knowledge experts is not only a slogan for us, it is our agenda, we exist for people not for profit.
